Precast concrete underground detention is the most efficient, safest and longest lasting method for storing stormwater underground. StormPrism was conceived and designed specifically to provide optimal configurations to store stormwater underground. StormPrism was also developed to address seismic design loads for Level 5, if necessary. Its unique design creates open and accessible space that won’t trap sediment and debris behind a maze of interior walls and step-through openings. This configuration also ensures that vital maintenance and inspection is easy and safe. StormPrism was developed with all of these factors in mind and more.

StormPrism can be configured to allow captured stormwater to infiltrate into underlying soil layers to recharge groundwater which achieves a best practice goal set forth by the U.S. EPA as a best management practice. StormPrism can also be configured to allow stormwater to percolate into “sand beds” to act as filtration and, StormPrism can be configured to access open graded bedding to increase storage volumes. In each case StormPrism can be configured with internal filters to trap sediment and debris before it enters the underlying soils. Pretreatment is also available utilizing standalone stormwater treatment devices.
harvesting
Stormwater harvesting and reuse is an increasing need for many communities and StormPrism can easily incorporate pumps to extract stored stormwater. Stormwater collected from large properties and parking lots can be contaminated with fine particulates and hyrdrocarbons. Pretreatment can be incorporated into StormPrism to capture those materials before they reach the pump system and related sump. StormPrism can be configured to be watertight precluding the loss of valuable water that can be used to irrigate landscape or for other “gray water” applications.
